Guidelines for Students

MIDC2 scientific committee invites Post graduate students and research graduates for the abstract submission for the following Paper presentation, (50 papers) Poster presentation, (50 posters).

Abstracts, in English only, can be submitted online until October 31st, 2016. Please note that it will not be possible to consider late submissions.

The accepted abstracts will be included in the scientific program and categorized according to the following five topics:

  • Surgical and prosthetic implant therapy outcomes.
  • Tissue augmentation and engineering.
  • Complications in implant dentistry.
  • Basic research.
  • Material research.
  •  Review.

 

Paper Presentation:

Oral abstract presentations are restricted to a ten (10) minute time allotment- 8 minutes for presentation and 2 minutes for questions.

Time allotments are limited and papers will be selected based on scientific content, submission date and available time.

Presentation screen will be 4:3 ratios, please prepare your presentation accordingly.

Additional A/V information and instructions will be sent to selected presenters.

 

Instructions to authors

The abstract (max. 400 words) is submitted online with the following subheadings:

Title: The title of the abstract should be limited to 10 words.

Names of authors: The full names of all authors, including professional/academic affiliations.

Background: The background of the study should clearly be described.

Aim: The aim of the study should clearly be stated.

Material and Methods: The material and methods should be described systematically and in detail, including sample size and statistical methods.

Results: The obtained results should be described  systematically and in detail.

Conclusions and clinical implications: The main conclusions should be stated, including possible clinical implications.

 

  • Abstracts not prepared according to the above-described guidelines will be rejected. Please do not use abbreviations. Small tables can be included, but inclusion of figures and pictures will not be possible.
  • Please make sure that the submitted abstract is written in correct English language without grammatical, spelling, and typing errors. 

 

Review of submitted abstracts

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by at least two reviewers with special knowledge within the specific field, thereby ensuring high standards of the accepted abstracts.

The evaluation will focus on innovativeness, originality, study design, methodological quality, data quality, as well as clinical and scientific significance of the study. Emphasis will also be put on adequate description of the study (background, aim, materials and methods, results, and conclusions, including possible clinical implications.

 

Abstract withdrawal

Registration of presenters

All presenters of paper and poster presentations are required to register and pay full registration fee for the conference before 31st October 2016 in order to confirm their presentation.

Poster presentation

The poster presentation will also follow the same guidelines as of that of a paper. The accepted posters will be informed about the details of the poster specification to be displayed by email.
